A delightful free gift arrived in my mailbox the other day from my vet. At first I just saw an ugly cat and put it in the recycle pile, but then later when I looked at it again I realized that the slightly possessed-looking woman on the cover was none other than Julie Cooper from The OC. But Melinda Clarke has some ugly pets. Julie Cooper would never have such ugly pets except perhaps if she thought very ugly pets would make her look prettier somehow in comparison, like bridesmaid's dresses.

Molly Mae is an ugly pug. But Melinda Clark is so pretty! And no wrinkles!



In addition to the lovely pictures, there are is an in-depth interview about her pets and The OC. My favorite parts:

"Bella is a little bit snooty about the loo," she says, with a laugh. "If the litterbox is clean, she will use it, but as soon as Bart has been in it, she avoids it."

I wonder if she uses British slang because she's famous and can do ridiculous shit like that without people saying anything or if it's because Bella is a British shorthair.

In a box about her favorite animal movies:
Stuart Little - "Stuart Little is a mouse, and he is adopted by a family that has a cat who gets jealous of him. It is a great movie about family values, and it gives the message that it does not matter if you are different; you are still part of the family, and we love you anyway. There are also a lot of cool cat stunts in the movie."

I really have a hard time believing that a grown woman said that about Stuart Little, especially one who can so convincingly play such a bitchy, ruthless character on prime time television. It makes me doubt the validity of the whole article. Damn you, Healthy Pet and your shoddy pet journalism!
