from looking around at the people doing secret pals 4, i noticed that the little questionnaire floating around would be very helpful when trying to send your pal stuff. so i answered all the questions to help my pal, wherever they are.

1. Are you a yarn snob (do you prefer high-end/natural fibers)? Do you avoid Red Heart and Lion Brand? Or is it all the same to you?

kind of - i think cheap acrylic yarn definitely has its place, but if i'm making something special for someone, then i want nice yarn to show off all the hours i put into making the piece.

2. Do you spin? Crochet?

i learned how to crochet way before i learned how to knit, and i've never spun anything.

3. Do you have any allergies? (smoke, pets, fibers, perfume, etc.)

no. except for mosquito bites.

4. How long have you been knitting?

since October. my aunt re-taught me while she was visiting from Ireland.

5. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list?

yes, but i need to update it.

6. What's your favorite scent? (for candles, bath products etc.)

orange. i like all fruity scents. and most other scents, but those are my favorite.

7. Do you have a sweet tooth?

yes. i like milk chocolate the most and dark chocolate the least, and pretty much everything in between.

8. What other crafts or Do-It-Yourself things do you like to do?

i like making cat furniture, and hope to learn to sew soon (as soon as i buy myself a sewing machine) and i like making soap and bath products.

9. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if your buddy wants to make you a CD)

i can play MP3s, and i have a very diverse taste in music.

10. What's your favorite color? Or--do you have a color family/season/palette you prefer?

orange. and i really like all bright colors.

11. What is your family situation? Do you have any pets?

Married (just celebrated our 11 years since our first date anniversary) and four cute cats.

12. What are your life dreams? (really stretching it here, I know)

to be happy.

13. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with?

i love lamb's pride. and i like fun novelty yarns, i don't care that they're not cool anymore.

14. What fibers do you absolutely *not* like?

the only yarn that i haven't liked so far was one called Snowflake. it was a fleecy yarn and i wanted to set it on fire. but it made a really cute baby hat.

15. What is/are your current knitting obsession/s?

i don't have anything in particular, just obsessed with knitting in general.

16. What is/are your favorite item/s to knit?

i really like felting things.

17. What are you knitting right now?

Ribbi Cardi, the marsupsial bag from Stitch n' Bitch, a garter stitch cotton washcloth, and a big afgan for my couch.

18. What do you think about ponchos?

that they look like you're wearing a blanket. a poncho would be nice to keep me warm in my ice castle of an apartment, but i would never wear it outside.

19. Do you prefer straight or circular needles?

it depends what i'm making - i use straights for scarves and washcloths.

20. Bamboo, aluminum, plastic?

i like all of them.

21. Are you a sock knitter?

not yet, but soon.

22. How did you learn to knit?

my aunt retaught me last October.

23. How old is your oldest UFO?

4 months

24. What is your favorite animated character or a favorite animal/bird?

cats are wonderful, and i like the characters from A Nightmare Before Christmas.

25. What is your favorite holiday?

my birthday. it's a holiday for me.

26. Is there anything that you collect?

yarn and cute socks and random craft-making crap.
