put on a happy face!

I have been inspired to hone my skills of cat torture by my new favorite website, Stuff On My Cat. Stuff plus cats really does equal AWESOME. My cats must earn their fancy cat food.

scarferrific

I finally finished Cynthia's Irish Hiking Scarf. She bought the Elsbeth Lavold Angora, color 01 (Misty Blue) and mailed it to me, and I have turned it into a hat and a scarf. Knitting is magic.

The scarf is 68 inches long, including the fringe. My question for Cynthia is this: would you like me to block the scarf out wider so you can see the in-between cable parts, or do you like it smooshed up the way it is?

Right now it is about 5.5 inches wide. And delightfully soft.

This is how I could pin it out to block it if you'd like. Then it would be about 7.5 inches wide.

America's next top (baby) model

Many, many months ago, I started a baby hat for baby Noah. I finished it about a year late, so it was a happy first birthday present instead of a new baby present. The pattern is from the Debbie Bliss Baby Knits Book.

Caution: Baby adorableness may cause uterus aching

The reason it took me so long to make the hat is that I kept ripping out the beginning because the ear flaps looked wonky to me and also when instructed to "pick up and knit" stitches, that's what I did, instead of just picking up the stitches and NOT knitting them, the way Debbie Stoller explains in Stitch 'N Bitch because knitting instructions can be a pain in the ass and not at all intuitive. This was the first hat that I have knit that is done flat and then seamed up, and now that I have gotten over all my issues with it, I would knit it again. There are also matching socks, which I bought the yarn for as well, but I had some difficulties getting started which may or may not have been wine related. Perhaps they will be a second birthday present.

Apparently Noah does not like wearing hats, but he was kind enough to model my handiwork so that Robert could take some pictures to send me. What a cutie! Thanks, Noah!

happy st. patrick's day!

Keyser put his green hat on today so the other cats wouldn't pinch him.

new blue 'do

When I get bored with life, instead of rearranging my furniture or doing coke with strippers, I chop my hair off or change it to a crazy color. This week I did both. I'm really mixing it up.

jennifer in action

I have an action figure! Heather bought it for me at a little toy store in Williamsville when I was visiting her. I don't think I look quite as crazy as the figure.

Ok, maybe.
